An asbestos removal permit must be obtained prior to the removal or disturbance of any asbestos-containing materials during the construction or demolition of a building or structure, including additions. Once the applicant has submitted the permit application and paid all applicable fees, staff may issue an asbestos removal/abatement permit alongside the completed building permit.
Arlington does not perform asbestos inspections. Asbestos inspections must be scheduled with the Commonwealth.
